How long have you been practising kickboxing?

As early as six years old, I could often be found at my uncle’s kickboxing school. He’s a Swiss champion several times over, as well as my coach. I’ve been actively training for over five years – and up to six times a week before my injury.

Can you tell us more about the accident?

In the final minutes of the competition, I made a wrong move after a kick, fell and felt my knee crack. I wanted to carry on, but I collapsed again when I put weight on it. So I went to the nearest hospital for an examination. The doctor told me that I’d need to have several checks performed. She also recommended that I open an EPR.

How did you use the EPR?

It enabled me to keep all documents, such as X-rays, medical reports and therapy plans, in one place. This was very helpful given all the clinics involved, from hospital care to GP visits and physiotherapy. I didn’t have to bring any paper documents or remember what was said or prescribed and when.

What was the biggest advantage for you?

I was better informed about the entire treatment. In the past, I sometimes had difficulty remembering medical terms or understanding what was discovered during an examination. Now I can look it up in my record at any time.

Where is there room for improvement?

I found everything I needed in the EPR. However, the login process could be even faster and simpler.

Who would you recommend the EPR to in particular?

Anyone like me who practises a sport with a high risk of injury. But it actually makes sense for everyone, as you can store vaccinations, examinations or laboratory results in one place and access them at any time.

How are you doing now? Can you pursue your passion again?

I was diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate ligament, so I need to take things slowly. I’ve been able to start fitness exercises and boxing training again. The kickboxing will have to wait a little longer. But my goal is clear: I want to compete again.
