EPR access points Simple and suitable for everyday use

The electronic patient record (EPR) now also enables simple and secure data exchange in the healthcare sector. For the EPR to be truly helpful, it must find its way into the everyday lives of citizens and healthcare professionals, and it must be easy to access:

  • Healthcare professionals can connect their own system directly to Swiss Post's e-health platform. This avoids duplication, reduces administrative costs and improves efficiency in day-to-day practice. Alternatively, access through a web portal is also possible.
  • In addition to the web portal, there is also a user-friendly app for citizens, giving them access to their health data anytime and anywhere. And it also offers access to other functions.

Access for healthcare professionals

How do healthcare professionals access the EPR? In their day-to-day practice, healthcare professionals work with their primary system, where they want to be able to see all patient information. That is why access to the EPR should be available to medical professionals in their core systems – with no additional login or need to switch systems.

Deep integration for day-to-day practice

With deep integration, the primary system connects directly to the EPR, allowing data to be exchanged automatically with no need for doctors and medical staff to log into an additional system. The integration of a primary system into the EPR can vary depending on the manufacturer. The data must be made available in an exchange format standardized and defined by eHealth Suisse. Reference communities and eHealth Suisse provide resources to support this process.

Sanela Connect: the simple integration solution

Post Sanela Health AG offers the Sanela Connect solution to establish a seamless connection between various healthcare systems and the EPR. Sanela Connect simplifies processes and significantly reduces the effort required by software providers and healthcare professionals.

Alternatively, healthcare professionals can use the Sanela web portal to access patient data to retrieve medical information or make new entries. This allows an individual’s EPR to be kept up to date and complete.

Access for citizens

How do citizens access the EPR? The web portal provides all EPR users with secure and straightforward access to the EPR. This access can be used to assign and manage authorizations for healthcare professionals.

Health data at your fingertips on the go

Users of the Swiss Post Sanela EPR also have mobile access to the EPR, allowing them to access their record on a smartphone or tablet using the ePost App.

Features include for example viewing X-ray findings on the go, checking vaccination records or uploading new health documents directly using the scan function.

The app meets the same security requirements as the web version.
