Software systems can be assessed on the basis of their structure, readability and comprehensibility for independent experts even without specialist insider knowledge. At the webinar, Sieber & Partners presented the model it uses for auditability checks and which it uses for the review of Swiss Post’s future e-voting system, among others. The head cryptographer from the Swiss Post e-voting team then explained how the requirements regarding code quality can be implemented in the development of the system. The participants learned how Swiss Post has proceeded with the further development and recoding of the system, what role the trust assumptions – derived from the legal basis for the e-voting trial operation – have played, and what quality level it has aimed for and achieved.
